The Fire Illuminating
The vernal equinox is widely celebrated in pagan communities, and Sepānoi Rotī is no exception. It’s a time that we use to renew oaths and welcome new members, as well as celebrate the divine order that Brigantiā maintains over our world
This holiday was originally conceived-of by Branos Carnutodrûidon, the details of which can be found at the Carnutian Nemeton.
Dates
Luni–solar: The first full moon after the spring equinox (March 25th in 2024, Northern Hemisphere).
Coligny: 8th or 9th of Aedrini of Equos (first quarter/spring start)
Gregorian: March 21st (Northern Hemisphere) or November 21st (Southern Hemisphere).
Theological Importance
In the cosmic calendar of Sepânioi Rotî, Brigantiâ has vanished the anguipeds, easing up the storms that formed around her battles. She returns to the hilltops, renewing our vigour and working to restore what has been thrown out of balance.
Activities
As the weather warms, we start to close our projects from Giamos (winter) and begin to set in motion those for Samos (summer). Continuing from Īwos Brigantiā, we donate the funds we’ve raised between the two holidays, present Brigantiā with our progress on creative projects, and plant seeds together for the coming season.
Offerings
Donations to charities, crafting, repairs, spring cleaning, planting seeds, bread, whiskey.
